Our Team
We brought together professionals from different backgrounds: strength training, movement, dance, aerial, pilates, and rehabilitation. Each instructor brings their own expertise and creativity to the class. The flow varies, only within the objective of the class.

39 years old, a physical exercise technician and cross-training coach with a lifelong passion for sport. Thiago trained in track and field and rowing before finding his calling in CrossFit over a decade ago, and has extensive experience racing marathons and ultramarathons. At Taraz he brings that endurance background to guiding students toward safe, consistent progress, and is currently preparing for triathlon challenges as part of his ongoing pursuit of athletic excellence.

An advanced student at Movement Lisboa, dedicated to his practice for the past 5 years. Before Movement, Martim competed as a swimmer at national level and trained for years in karate, and has since explored climbing, yoga, and boxing, building a wide-ranging athletic versatility. His passion for movement and expression has led him to specialised workshops with Fighting Monkey, Tom Weksler, and Juan Hueda, among others, and he holds a YTT yoga teacher training certification from The Sacred Fig.

Trained at the Northern Ballet School in Manchester and a graduate of the Academia de Bailado Pirmin Treku, Sofia brings over 20 years of professional experience across ballet, contemporary, jazz, choreography and performance. She has performed at the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, Campo Pequeno, Teatro da Trindade and internationally, as well as working as a choreographer and teacher across Lisbon. At Taraz she leads Flexibility & Release, bringing the precision and body awareness of classical training into a contemporary movement context.

Educator and movement artist with over a decade of teaching experience. René graduated in Circus Arts in Brazil and toured professionally throughout Brazil, Europe, and the Middle East, performing in more than ten countries. His practice spans capoeira, taekwondo, physical theatre, contemporary dance, and circus arts — combining solo and partner acrobatics, handstands, balancing techniques, AcroDance, and object manipulation. At Taraz he brings this breadth into Coordination & Balance: a class built around body awareness, play, and the joy of movement as a tool for health, presence, and longevity.

Sepehr completed 18 months of comprehensive training in therapeutic massage, covering sports massage, clinical and rehabilitation techniques, and lymphatic drainage. He went on to work across a range of practices, including an osteopathy clinic, and served as masseur for a professional football team. At Taraz he favours a deep, focused approach — working through contractions and trigger points to restore ease and mobility to the body.

Terms of Service
1. About Taraz
Taraz is a fitness studio operated by Caranguejos Atléticos Unip LDA (NIPC 518974120), from Av. 24 de Julho 114 A/B, Santos, Lisboa, 1200-870, Portugal. By purchasing a membership, booking a class, or using this website, you agree to these terms.
2. Memberships, Payments and Bookings
All class bookings, membership sign-ups, and payments are processed directly through TeamUp (goteamup.com), our third-party booking and payment platform. Caranguejos Atléticos Unip LDA does not itself collect, store, or process your payment details — card information, billing, and transaction data are handled entirely by TeamUp on our behalf. By booking a class or purchasing a membership, you are also agreeing to TeamUp's own Terms of Service. Memberships are billed monthly and renew automatically unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time — access continues until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing cycle. Prices are in euros and include applicable taxes.
3. Cancellation Policy
Classes must be cancelled at least 4 hours in advance to avoid being counted as attended. Repeated no-shows may result in a booking restriction. Sunday Exchange hosting requests may be cancelled up to 7 days before the scheduled date.
4. Health and Liability
Participation in physical exercise carries inherent risk. You confirm that you are in adequate health to participate and take responsibility for your own wellbeing during sessions. Taraz is not liable for injuries resulting from pre-existing conditions or failure to follow instructor guidance. If you have any health concerns, consult a medical professional before attending.
5. Studio Rules
Members and visitors are expected to respect the space, equipment, and other members at all times. Taraz reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for conduct that is disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, images, and design — belongs to Taraz. Nothing may be reproduced or used for commercial purposes without written permission.
7. Governing Law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lisbon. Under Portuguese consumer law (Decreto-Lei n.º 24/2014), you have the right to withdraw from online purchases within 14 days of purchase for digital services not yet delivered.

Please note: all class bookings, membership management, and payment processing on this website are handled by our third-party provider, TeamUp (goteamup.com), not by Taraz directly. Any personal or payment data you submit when booking a class, joining a membership, or making a payment — including your name, contact details, and card information — is collected and processed by TeamUp under its own privacy practices. We do not have access to or store your payment card details at any point. For information on how that data is collected, used, and protected, please refer to TeamUp's Privacy Policy and TeamUp's Terms of Service.
2. What We Collect
We directly collect information you provide when contacting us or submitting a Sunday Exchange proposal: name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message. We also collect standard website analytics data (pages visited, device type) through anonymous tools. Information provided when booking a class, joining a membership, or making a payment — including any health information relevant to your participation — is collected directly by TeamUp, not by us; see Section 1 above.
3. How We Use It
Information you provide directly to us (for example, through the Sunday Exchange form or by email) is used to respond to your enquiries and manage your involvement with Taraz. We do not sell, rent, or share this data with third parties except where required by law. Separately, any information you provide when booking a class, joining a membership, or making a payment is submitted directly to and managed by TeamUp (goteamup.com), our booking and payment platform — see Section 1 above for details.
4. Data Retention
We retain enquiry and Sunday Exchange data for as long as needed to respond to you, and for up to 3 years thereafter as required by Portuguese accounting law (Código Comercial). Membership, booking, health-related, and payment data is retained by TeamUp in accordance with their own retention practices — see their Privacy Policy for details.
5. Your Rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You may also request data portability or object to processing. For data we hold directly (enquiries, Sunday Exchange submissions), contact us at info@taraz-studio.com. For data related to your bookings, membership, or payments, this is held by TeamUp and requests should be directed to them — see their Privacy Policy for how to exercise your rights with them. You may also lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD) at www.cnpd.pt.
6. Cookies
This website itself uses no tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking scripts. The only data loaded externally is Google Fonts (typography) and Google Maps (contact page). Our Schedule page embeds a booking widget from TeamUp (goteamup.com), which may set its own cookies to operate the booking calendar; this is governed by TeamUp's Privacy Policy, not ours.
